hello dslr4video! thanks for the pointer. you are right about the misleading title (i will just fix the title right now) – there are just minimal differences of the d800 to the d800e, so i would also say that they are not worth the price. the german article says “the differences of the two cameras are minimal and can be ignored for most photographers” – so yes, you are right about the misleading title: the differences are only minimal, but there is a difference.

dear nanofunk, while i think you are right about the overall minimal differences of the nikon d800 versus the d800e, the actual title you wrote is somehow misleading. you wrote “no technical difference” and i think this is not true. the sensor is weaker in the d800e, at least according to the links you provided and also when i look at the official statements from nikon.
so there is a small technical difference, but the question is – is it worth the money? in my opinion also NO, since i always retouch the images (and never use in-camera jpeg rendering).
